We Are a Global Network of Baptist Conventions, Institutions, and Practitioners
Standing Together
Serving Together
We are stronger when we serve together.
The Baptist Forum for Aid and Development (BFAD) is a global network of the Baptist World Alliance bringing together Baptist conventions, institutions, and practitioners committed to supporting the participation of Baptist churches and conventions in humanitarian relief and development work across the world.
Our work traverses four key areas:
Disaster Response, Networking, Capacity Strengthening, and Administration
We are guided by four key values:
Collaboration, Coordination, Competency, and Care.
Standing with Venezuela
On June 25, powerful 7.2 and 7.5-magnitude earthquakes struck Venezuela, the strongest seismic event to affect the nation in more than a century.
More than 1,000 lives were lost and thousands are displaced. Help us partner with local BWA member partner, the National Baptist Convention of Venuzeula, as they seek to be the hands and feet of Christ at this critical time. They report that there are 50 Baptist churches across the affected region, including 15 congregations in the hardest-hit areas.
BFAD in Action
Ukraine: Responding to the Effects of War
Since the war in Ukraine began, the BFAD network has brought together the global Baptist family to provide vital shelter, food, and support to those in need.
Türkiye: Responding to a Devastating Earthquake
When the 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Türkiye and Syria in February of 2023, the BFAD network responded to the call to serve our brothers and sisters.
Worldwide: Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic
When the COVID-19 pandemic threatened the world, BFAD members mobilized their resources to serve more than one million men, women, and children.
Testimonials
How BFAD Is Impacting Lives

Rev. Patrick Mulengezi
Convention of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Congo (CEBEC)
The support provided by BFAD has been a true blessing to the Church and the community of Goma. Through a coordinated effort led by our consortium of Baptist churches, we were able to effectively respond to the urgent needs of displaced families who had been left without assistance after the war and the destruction of their camps by rebel forces. The distribution of food, dignity kits for women, and pastoral care has restored hope to hearts deeply wounded by trauma and loss. This support has powerfully strengthened the Church’s witness in the community as the love of Christ is made visible in tangible ways.

Laura Ayala
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship
The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship is honored to have been part of the Baptist World Alliance Forum for Aid and Development (BFAD) since its beginnings in 2018.
Disasters often exceed the capacity of any single organization to respond, but through collaboration within BFAD, we are able to achieve greater impact and transform the lives of those suffering. Together, we embody the power of Baptist unity in addressing global needs.”
